On October 21, 2019, the WTA Team released a new web-based solution, the Environmental Review Process (EnvREV), crafted specifically for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). Built from the ground up, and incorporating existing operational workflow into the solution, EnvREV helps streamline the environmental permitting process for capital construction and maintenance projects.
Under the direction of LADWP's Chief Sustainability Officer, Nancy Sutley, WTA worked closely with her team and LADWP's Information Technology Services to design and develop a cutting-edge solution to the headaches associated with environmental permitting. There are approximately 40 permits or requirements from over 15 environmental agencies that can be managed within the application. EnvREV utilizes email notifications to keep project engineers and environmental permit managers abreast of status updates, including when a project has been cleared to proceed with construction. Future plans for EnvREV include the integration of a cultural and biological geographic information system, among other enhancements.
